Class Discussion Conglomeration

When we talked about conglomeration in class it sounded like it was a really bad thing, but I think for some people it can actually be really good. Obviously if your the head if the conglomeration you would be making a lot of money, so it's good for those people. I also think it would benefit the people who really like their content. We talked about how things often get shoved through a lot of different types of media in a conglomeration, like there could be a really popular book and it would be made into a movie, a video game, a tv show, ect. Which leads to less diversity of content. But if you really like the contet then it would benefit you a lot because you would get to experience your favorite book or movie in multiple different media forms. So in that case it could be good. At the same time though, I understand why it could be really bad if you don't like the content then obviously it would be bad, but also a monopoly could form of a specific type of media. For example if one person owned all of the book publishing companies, then if they didn't like your book, there would be no chance of getting it published.
